Building healthy families
free of abuse
A safety workshops for parents
One in five girls and one in 10 boys will become a victim of sexual abuse; however, prevention is possible.
Rise's GUARDian Workshop will mobilize parents to protect their children. By learning the tactics of predators, the signs of abuse, and the tools children need to protect themselves, parents will be better equipped to GUARD their children's childhood.
Workshop for caretakers
Sunday school teachers, nonprofit leaders, and volunteers are entrusted with leading our children; however, many lack basic training in recognizing and handling suspicions of abuse or maltreatment. Rise will come alongside nonprofits and children's ministries to build their skills and help them prepare for such situations.
Workshops and community groups for kids
We will build children's ability to keep themselves safe. With the aid of curriculum, we will impart the tools children need to recognize unsafe situations and people. They will learn how to protect themselves and others from abuse, bullying, and dangerous situations. Rise UP happens weekly at two area locations or can come to you. By equipping parents, children, and caretakers with tools to protect kids, we can prevent abuse.
Rise has designed an approach that equips every member of a child's life to guard their safety. When parents, children, and caretakers join together to protect each child. Read about how we mobilize all three parts of our approach.

Communities wherein all children are safe and nurtured
While serving as program director at Club Christ, Kendra Dyson met dozens of children whom had been in foster care and reunified to their parents. While there were success stories, there were an equal number of children returned to unsafe homes. After becoming a foster parent herself, Kendra developed a passion to educate and equip parents. Her desire to keep kids out of foster care and building healthy home caused her to launch Rise Family Services in 2016.
With a bachelors in Christian Ministry from Hope International University and over 19 years ministry and nonprofit experience, Kendra leads a team of passionate volunteers to serve local families. She has trained with the International Trauma Training Institute and Darkness to Light. When she's not working, Kendra spends time with her husband, Ben, of nine years and her three young children.
